There are plenty of summer and winter activities in Samoens and the rest of the Grand Massif. There is so much to see and do for all ages, Skiing, Snowboarding, white water rafting, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, para gliding, tennis, climbing, and a fantastic adventure tree top park. The River Giffre runs just outside the apartment and is opposite the meeting point for rafting and water activities. Alternatively some breathtaking walks start along the river into Sixt and the stunning Fer A Cheval. Five minutes walk the other way and you will find yourself at the Lac Aux Dames, two beautiful mountain lakes where you can simply relax while the kids amuse themselves at the adventure park in the trees or brush up your skills at the golf driving and archery ranges.

Next to the lakes is the open air summer swimming pool with kiddie pools and slide for the older ones. There is a year round market which is great for local produce with some fantastically gooey goats cheeses and honey.

The village itself is a buzz of activity in Winter or Summer It has a range of friendly bars and restaurants There's Phillipes bar where he's always ready with a reviving beverage or the Bar Samoens where you can sit with the family and watch the world go by in the village square. There are some fantastic restaurants ranging from family friendly fare to fine dining in beautiful surrundings, such as Bois de lune restaurant. For something special join Liliane and Thierry at La Table De Fifine just five minutes walk from the apartment. A spectacular setting in a traditionaly built chalet serving beautifully cooked food, the traditional fondue with cepes and local Ayze wine is gorgeous!

If you fancy an explore further afield there is always the wine region of Ayze 40 minutes away, great for an afternoon of sampling. Or there are the beautiful cities of Annecy and Geneva just an hour from Samoens with excellent restaurants shops and Lakeside scenery.
